A Green Coyote Crosses the Rockies

Boulder, CO – It was one of those crisp October mornings, the kind that hints of the winter to come. SportPilot.com owners, Glen Marshman and Bob Rubino, had recently completed the construction and fly-off of their latest project, a RANS Coyote II S-6ES. Anxious to see how their light sport aircraft would perform cross-country, they boldly decided to traverse the Continental Divide and do some sightseeing down by the Grand Canyon.

The folks at the Florida Commission on Tourism must cringe every time it rains, but they hadn’t anything to worry about; the spirits were high at the 2008 U.S. Sport Aviation EXPO in Sebring, Florida, January 17-20. So the weather was rather lousy at times, the EXPO was still awesome!

BOULDER, Co. – Owners Bob Rubino and Glen Marshman, longtime pilots, recognized the opportunity presented by the FAA’s new Sport Pilot category and decided to purchase the domain name www.SportPilot.com. That was back in 2003, but because of the government’s delay at finalizing the regulations, along with the illness of a previous partner, they put the planned website on the back burner.
